About Fruenes
In beautiful Volda, a small town by the Voldsfjord surrounded by the Sunnmøre Alps, lies Fruenes Kafé and Bed&Breakfast. The building from 1885, which goes by the name Krumsvikhuset, has been lovingly renovated, and all design has been carefully planned by us, to respect and preserve the history of the house. Here you can sleep in a comfortable bed in one of our four rooms, and wake up to birdsong and fresh sea air after a good night's sleep. Our rooms are decorated in soft, soothing colors and each room has been named after a living, female, Norwegian author. The bookshelf contains books by the authors and on the wall hangs a personal greeting from each of them.
Our vision is threefold, and we want to give you comfort, quality and coziness. With us you should feel at home, while feeling extra well taken care of. Our beds are from Wonderland, made in Åndalsnes, the linen is in white satin from Høie, and in our two gorgeous bathrooms you will find thick, luxurious towels from Høie's spa collection in Turkish cotton.
We set the table for breakfast in the café on the ground floor, where you can enjoy freshly brewed coffee made from freshly ground coffee beans from our local coffee roaster, Jacu in Ålesund. You order exactly what you want for breakfast, and we serve you freshly prepared, homemade food in cozy surroundings. Maybe you eat with some of our other guests, our large breakfast table has room for everyone. The café is a museum in miniature, showing some of the history of the house. Here, among other things, it has been a general store, a clothing store, a bank and an optician, and the walls are decorated with objects we found during renovation.
As an overnight guest, you naturally get a 20% discount in the café, and the room is at your disposal if you need a place to sit, whether you are going to work or if you just want to sit in a comfortable chair and read. If you are going to be here for several days, we can also tempt you with a homemade dinner.
Whether you are here for work, traveling or just need to get away for a while, with us you will feel at home, and your stay will be a very special experience that you rarely get in a hotel.
